Plot Summary
Red returns from any away mission to LV-426 and says that all was well aside from something attaching to his face. Red is left only with some mild heartburn as a result. As the heartburn grows progressivly worse and also starts to itch, Red goes to see Dr. Reines so that she might determine what the problem is. She is somewhat dismayed by what she finds on the X-ray. Belinda brings in Dr. Notio to consult and as they debate on whether it is acid reflux or heartburn a chestburster bursts out of Red's chest and skitters away.
Belinda and Malcom report the problem to the Captain and D. B. runs into the now fully grown creature. When news of D.B.'s demise reaches them they decide to mount an assault on the creature before things get too out of hand. The Alliance sends in a group of expendable Space Marines to deal with the issue and after some awkward moments and jokes, all of them are killed by the creature.
Captain Smith then decides to use Dr. Notio for bait and head out to hunt the creature. At first they capture a guy in alien suit who turns out to be playing a part in the new musical the ship is putting on, but during the ensuing argument they come across the Xenomorph. When confronted by the alien most of the crew runs away to regroup, leaving the Captain behind. The Captain's Sword proves slightly less than useful, but through trickery the Captain escapes. He chides his crew for running away and they inform him that as Jedi they are not well equipped to deal with the problem due to a plot contrivance.
The crew moves out again, this time better armed and after much conversation Shauna builds a portal generator which will get rid of the alien. Shauna, in her rush, however, did not put an "on" switch onto the portal generator and they are left confronting the alien alone. The whole situation comes to a head and just as the alien is about to kill the crew Gary intervenes and eats the alien.
After the events Ellen Ripley arrives too late to help, Gary experiences some bad side effects of eating the alien and we see Shauna's Portal Generator spark ominously. Malcom is left hanging, and the rest must sit through a horrible musical production of Alien vs. Predator.
Two Author interludes are included in the episode as well.
