Plot Summary
A strange masked man fought a gladiator in an arena on Tasus 5, and even after breaking his weapon he chose to let the gladiator live, much to the disappointment of the crowd. In the gladiatorial cells the masked man talked with a chozo trainer and revealed himself to be Skip. The fight coordinator interrupted the conversation to instruct Skip that his next match had best end in a fatality or their patron would be displeased. Skip simply blew him off and went about his business.
His attitude about not killing seriously displeased Farrel Goddard, the patron of the arena, and he ordered his coordinator, Thamik to make sure Skip did not survive any more fights. Meanwhile, Jor and Skip talked in the cells about Skip's real purpose in the arena and Skip easily danced around the questions until it was time for his fight with Broga. Though Broga put up a terrible fight, Skip easily incapacitated the brute and walked away from yet another fight, much to Mr. Goddard's dismay. At that point Mr. Goddard brought in an old associate of his, Corman Voor who had just the fighter they were looking for.
The fighter, someone Goddard had captured and placed a neural clamp on, in Voor's opinion was more than a match for Skip and would make quick work of him.
Skip, however, had other plans, and during the night slipped into Mr. Goddard's empty office to search his computer. All of his training allowed him to slip in and out unnoticed even when Thamik checked the office himself. After his information heist, Skip revealed to Jor the real reason he had come to the arena. He had been searching for information about the death of his parents, and he had found it. Mr. Goddard had been responsible and Skip's mission had gone from one of information gathering to one of revenge. Their conversation, however, was interrupted by Skip's next fight. Skip was lead into the arena and pitted against a cloaked individual with a long double blade. When he finally saw under the hood and found himself face to face with a mind controlled Belinda he uttered and obscenity and the story was to be continued.
