You Light Up My Life
Plot Synopsis
An energy being boards the ship and wreaks havoc until Shauna manages to contain it long enough to communicate.
Plot Summary
While wander around the ship Marty hears a strange whistling. He quickly sees a small energy being drifting through the ship, seemingly happy and obviously to the world around it. Red is the next to encounter the being and discovers very quickly that it is corporeal and can burn right through things, such as Red himself. Word reaches the bridge that the energy being is burning its way through the ship and the Captain expresses his concerns for the saftey of the ship, though TAG reassures him, he also states that Shauna is running low on duct tape.
Marty soon arrives on the bridge to inform the Captain of several things he already knows and one he would rather not be aware of. Once things have settled down Shauna informs Bob that she can use magents to stop the energy beings "rampage," though at first her explanation borders on slightly more complicated than the Captain can deal with. Shauna's plan is put into effect and the energy being is stopped before it can do any more harm. This angers the creature greatly. The crew begin to speculate as to the nature of the being and its current angry state, until TAG is capable of calming the entity down sufficiently for communication. It is at this point where it gives Bob the equivalent of the finger.
Gathering the crew to attempt some kind of solutions Captain Smith opens the floor to questions and comments, prompting the usual inane question from Marty, which then the XO follows up on by releasing the entity. Once released the entity leaves the ship and the crew breathes a sigh of relief, having no idea that the entity has run to its mother.
This episode also contains a public service annocement from Boba Fett featuring John Crichton concerning the ending of Farscape?, as well lead in into the next storyline dealing with Gary serving both Red and the Captain bizarre foods and notions.
Critical Reception
At least one fan has shown displeasure of this episode due to its unresolved nature.
