Personal Cloaking Device
Personal Cloaking Devices allowed individuals to disappear from view and many standard forms of detection. This allowed for covert operations on a level above simply sneaking around.

History
The personal cloaking device was devised as a way to allow covert operatives to sneak around behind enemy lines. Less complex than a Chameleon Cloak but better than simply hiding in the shadows, the Personal Cloaking Device became a standard part of the covert operative's bag of tricks very quickly.
Construction
Personal Cloaking Devices were able to bend energy such as light and other forms of detection around themselves. They did produce a noticeable shimmer in the air for those who knew what they were looking for.
