Becian

Becians were insectoid humanoids with four eyes and domed skulls. They were expert cybergeneticists and had more success in the field of genetic implants than any other race. Regardless of their technical expertise they tended toward more relaxed and simple culture. The worlds the becian's populated were covered in monasteries and temples to the various gods they worshiped. They were known for their deep spirituality among the humans who have settled on their worlds. They primarily inhabited the colonial system of Becal, specifically their original homeworld Bell, as well as Bushido and the fourth moon of Becal 9, Shogun. They shared Bushido and Shogun with many human settlers.

Biology and Appearance

Becians were insectoid in nature with a prominent set of four eyes that extended from a domed head. Otherwise they were humanoid, but with chitin instead of skin and a complex set of sensory hairs along their carapace.

Society and Culture

Becian culture was deeply rooted in their religious beliefs and many of them took to massive monasteries to contemplate the meaning of the universe. Their society was also structured around scientific research and those who chose that field were revered almost as much as their holy orders.

History

Becian history was one of peace and cooperation among its members. Conflict was rare in becian history, even when the first settlers arrived from off world. Though they were not defenseless they chose to avoid combat as often as they could.
