The Alliance Air and Space Force
The Alliance Air and Space Force was the branch of the Unified Galactic Alliance Armed Forces which dealt primarily with ships, but more to the degree of small craft rather than the larger ships the Navy commanded. They are usually pilots in space and in planet bound aircraft and often supplement Alliance Ships with extra firepower.
History
Along with the Navy, the Army, and Marines, the Alliance Air and Space Force were founded at the inception of the Alliance as a peacekeeping force for the Allied worlds. The Air and Space Force had the distinction of piloting small, extremely maneuverable craft in space and in planetary atmosphere and were essential in the defense of military and civilian installations.
Ranks
The organization of Ranks in the Alliance Air and Space Force was based on old Earth Air Force ranks.

The Alliance Air and Space Force has just recently changed their standard uinforms to a series of carefully designed flight suits built to deal with the stresses of spaceflight and still maintain comfort in day to day use. Epaulets signify higher ranks and General wear a black uniform similar to the grey of the Alliance Army's ranking generals.
