Unumari
The Unumari were an incredibly diverse race of organic machines. Created long ago, no one knew what purpose they served or who had built them, but they continued on with their strange mechanical lives.
Biology and Appearance
The Unumari varied widely in their appearance, some were much more humanoid and much less mechanical in appearance, while others were distinctly machine-like. Long after their creation they had gained the ability to self-replicate, creating more of their own, which some speculated accounted for the strange variability in their designs and body-types. The younger the unumari, the less humanoid it appeared.
Society and Culture
Unumari society was scattered across the galaxy, with no known homeworld and no know world of origin. Their laws prevented them from doing harm of any of their own kind, but this did not prevent them from doing harm to other species, though they rarely came into conflict with other races as a people, they were often the source of conflict individually.
History
Whatever race originally built the Unumari has been lost to history, the unumari do not remember their builders, only that there are those among them that should be old enough to remember, but do not.
