Straal
The Straal were a semi-aquatic humanoid slave race of the Mon Calamari.
Biology and Appearance
The straal were engineered to be semi-aquatic. They had large eyes, and both gills and lungs. Their grey rubbery skin allowed them to survive comfortably in water and in air.
Society and Culture
The straal were genetically designed to be a slave race. They developed some culture over time, but it was mostly stamped out by their Mon Cal overlords. Those that escaped found solace with another monster, Ambion.
History
Bred by the Mon Calamari to be a slave race, the straal had a history of service and brutal punishments for disobeying the rules. Those who escaped were often hunted down unless they found someone strong, like Ambion, to keep them safe, keep them hidden, or make it too much trouble to be retrieved. Though even in those situations, they found themselves in slavery anyway.
