Mermaid
Mermaids are a amphibious piscean species from Pylesus 4 known for their beautiful songs.
Biology and Appearance
Mermaids are a mostly aquatic species who have a humanoid upper body but the lower body of a fish. Their skin tends toward grayish and they often have beautiful red hair. Males of the species are hardly ever seen, and offspring even less so. They are a xenophobic and non space-faring people unless they are taken forcibly from their homes.
Culture
Little is known of mermaid culture, though their music indicates a love for life and a worship of the oceans they live in.
History
Mermaids have often been coveted for their beauty and until they became a protected world of the Alliance they were often hunted and captured to be kept alive or to be slaughtered for a strange delicacy.
