Animu
Animu are a race of wide eyed humanoids who excel at the process of cloning.
Biology and Appearance
Animu biology is almost identical to that of humans. Their major distinctive difference is their large eyes which give them a somewhat strange appearance to humans. Even among the animu there is very little genetic difference, their biology appears to be based on a single template and speculation exists that they may have been a manufactured race as their genetic material is so uniform. Though there has been some genetic degradation due to the small pool of genetic material present in the species they continue to carry on and have often used their skills with cloning to repair the damage in their own genetic makeup. They are not, however, clones themselves, as they reproduce sexually.
Society and Culture
Animu society and culture is based around the concept of a god they call The Traveler, a god that they maintain will return one day and bring about a new renaissance to their culture. They say that they were made in his image and that through his divine intervention they have become the skilled and productive people that they are.
History
Little was known about the origins of the animu, only that they are related to humans and were likely transplanted to Tocris by some other species. Most of animu history was peaceful and they quickly gained technological superiority in the way of cloning. This may have lead to their accelerated departure from normal human physiology.
