Mars

Geography

Though Mars was mostly arid, lifeless, desert when it was first colonized, terraforming efforts produced an atmosphere and eventually greenery began to grow across the surface.

History

Colonized by Humans of Earth early in their space exploration, Mars was almost as important to human history as Earth was.
