The Presidential Guard
The Presidential Guard were an elite branch of the Alliance Army who protected the President of the Alliance from physical threats. They were well trained in armed and unarmed combat and considered the most elite of the Armed Forces.
History
The Presidential Guard were often the last line of defense for the President and often gave their lives in that service. Very few instigators over the years were able to make it through the Presidential Guard, those that did usually did not survive the attempt. Darth Creepius personally killed seventeen Presidential Guards in his assault on President Palpatine. He wounded several others, including gouging out Rouge's eye.
