Fibrin Cow
Fibrin Cows were a species of cattle bred and raised on Ibrin 5 that served as a food source for much of the galaxy.
Biology and Appearance
Genetically related to the cows of Earth, fibrin cows were modified by humans to contain significantly more muscle mass than their terran predecessors. They were also bred to reject the prion accumulation that resulted in Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy. This allowed for much more lax regulations on how the cattle were kept without the resultant problems.
History
In an attempt to help feed the galaxy, the fibrin cow was genetically designed and bred on Ibrin 5. By tampering with their genetic makeup it was possible to create a species both muscular and docile as well as resistant to a number of disease states that had plagued the cows of Earth.
