The fight with Gorik was very very hard on Belinda, she almost lost.

This was the most important fight of Belinda’s life.  It was almost the last of her life.  Though she won it cost her dearly, not only because she had to face a former friend and sparing partner turned to the dark side, but the fight was so physically damaging she had to spend months recovering from her injuries.  Gorik, of course, survived the fight to later fight Marty, but by the time he faced Marty he was no where near the strength he had here.  I had always hoped to get this scene drawn by one of my more artistic friends, but never got around to asking, so obviously it never happened.

Belinda trains her third padawan who will later go on to meet Shauna, completely independently and before Belinda ever knows her.

Earth

Belinda back at her childhood home, since her mom left and vanished and she’s been away it’s gotten a little run down.  I initially had a different angle on this but my wife convinced me it’d be more powerful if  the shot looked almost like the one where she’s leaving home.

When I initially planned on doing this as a whole storyline from Belinda’s past this was actually the point where I was going to start.  This is the real training room she based her holodeck program after.
