History
Some form or another of subdermal chips with GPS tracking or other functions existed for many years before they were modified to the point of being able to track a life form across star systems and monitor their life signs accurately.
Construction
Almost microscopic, subermal chips were wired with GPS (Galactic Positioning Systems) as well as lifesign monitors and could be accessed across great distances.
