Actually, I find Margaux more reasonable than Margot. I mean, how do you get go out of got?

  Simple: Margot is originally a French name – thumb rule for French spelling: include at least one letter that’s not required for pronunciation 😉
  
  Also just found out that Margaux is an actual alternate French spelling of Margot
