Nobody is going to be surprised if Allison Waines and some time traveler or time machine shows up here, are they? 😀 Because I’m certainly not going to be surprised! 😀
It might not seem apparent at first but I’m quite sure Hotshot is talking to someone via an invisible earpiece we just can’t see, because otherwise his word balloons would make no sense. 😀
actually IIRC wasn’t he the one that was involved in the Quantum Leap homage? so he’d be seeing and hearing someone that the others can’t, the way Dr. Beckett was the only one who could see Al.
Quantum Leap: Sam Beckett “Leaps” into the place of a historical person* somewhere during his own lifetime*. Everyone else sees him as the person he’s replaced (and he sees that person in his reflections in mirrors and everything else). With help and guidance from Al, a hologram projected from his own time, and Ziggy, the supercomputer with access to nearly complete historical records, Sam is drawn to improve the lives he finds himself encountering, with his “reward” for changing history to be to Leap again into another life and another quest to change history for the better.
Or, as the show put it:
“Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Doctor Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator – and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so Doctor Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap… will be the leap home. “

I haven’t watched that show, so haven’t a clue what you’re talking about, sorry. Interesting theory, though. 😀
