The first Star Wars type of droid that doesn’t require a protocol droid to be understood. 😀 I know, 46 has been speaking for ages, and a lot of it is foul language, but at least this one seems to be able to have an intelligent conversation! 😉
Often wondered why in Star Wars with the level of tech they do have, plus the fact they have droids that can speak, why Astromechs only beep and whistle, you would have thought being able to communicate clearly with the pilot may have been useful.
Surely “We’re about to be shot at by a Tie-fighter approaching from the rear” is more usefully than a load of demented beeping? 🙂

A theory would be that in “beep” you say that as “beep buhp pfoooeee”, which would actually be a quicker than plain english…
Of course, there’s always this theory.
