He has absolutely no idea what is coming for him! 😀

  2. SaylorA says:

What I like most about this comic? Man! That’s a tough one. There really is a lot to like with it, but I think I’ll go with this is the only Sci-Fi story I know of where the Main ship in the stories has an accountant as part of the crew.

  3. James Holzhauer says:

    Red.

  4. TeaAddict1 says:

The thing I like most about this comic, and the reason I continued reading it once I discovered it, is that I get the references. Star Trek and Star Wars are the sci-fi I grew up with so this comic is sort of nostalgic to me. It’s also hilarious with a sarcastic, witty humor that is surprisingly hard to find.

  5. Joe W says:

    Good question…
I like the references to the Great Old Ones (well, they are regulars – cool!). I do not get all Star Trek things, just watched the series when it was on TV as a kid. The humour is brilliant, I like the sarcasm. The different story arcs nicely blending, crossing over, ever interweaving…

  6. Andy-33 says:

    I’ve court up yay

  7. MSM007 says:

I like that is has a better story line then most of the drivel put out these days.

    • wolf72 says:

I’d watch it religiously … ok, given my current life I’d have to hide on the weekends and binge watch.

  8. JuL says:

First, a belated congrats to your fourteenth!
What I like? The LEGO. 😉 The Characters. The well-fitting mixture of the source worlds. The humour. And also actually your experimental stories. Ad Astra!

  9. Darg says:

The thing I like most about this comic is how seamlessly you’ve taken so many disparate stories and franchises and woven them into a cohesive, compatible whole. It takes talent, creativity and a whole lotta overthinking things in order to blend Star Trek, Star Wars, Lovecraftian mythology, comic book superheroes, Battlestar Galactica, Alien, Predator, Dr. Who, Back to the Future and the host of other referential sources into such an original and entertaining story.

  10. Jonathan says:

I like how the author been able to blend star wars, star trek, lego and so many other pop culture in one great comics. The first few years rely to mutch on star trek and star wars. But now it stand on its own.

  11. Nojjy says:

I enjoy how easily you tell a story with LEGO. While I may have to go over fight scenes multiple times to understand what’s happening, you’re often able to tell a cohesive story with little to no text (i.e. today’s post).

  12. Furby says:

I like this comic for his long continuity and I really enjoy the sci-fi themes (Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica…).

  13. Joe M says:

What do I like most about the comic? I like how it is always making me laugh. Between the impressive story arcs, wonderfully written satire, and the occasional (or more than occasional) dumb joke, it’s always changing and yet always the same. Easily one of the best comics (web or print) I’ve ever followed.

  14. J R Deveau says:

I like that Shawna puts up with no BS and I really liked it when she finally got to put on her ancestral armour.
Overall, the promises to the reader are high enough and have been properly executed. Telling a story with LEGO minifigures is not easy therefore if the story doesn’t hold up, the whole thing goes flat in a hurry.
    Keep up the great work!

  15. brian says:

I like best that the comic has managed to poke fun at every single sci fi show that I ever loved. In general, I also love Marty’s antics. He’s a lot of fun, and it’s been fun to watch him evolve from the naked buffoon to an actual jedi who at one point helped save the world!

  16. Oldfan says:

“With feeling”, indeed! Your disclaimer is longer than the contest rules and the comic combined! Ah, the times we live in…then again, it might be a sarcastic comment all by itself?

My favorite part of the comic is the use of my favorite building material to weave a story. It gives me the inspiration that I could do the same thing with my collection, if, you know, I had the right bricks, an idea for a story, and the technical equipment and know-how. But I’m sure those are minor details…

Besides, you tell an interesting story and have a similar sense of humor to my own, so it all just “works” for me. Keep ’em coming, Doc!

  17. General Mars says:

Y’know, I’d post, but everyone else has already said something along these lines…Ah screw it.

I love it all, really. The story, references, fourth wallery, even the Lego’s themselves, all perfectly blend into this comic. The pacing is amazing, (Which is something a lot of comics fail at) as well as the hilariously accurate science in a universe with Warp Drives and Humanoid Aliens. It all works so well, that there is no one perfect part, they all are individually good things pushed into something amazing. So my favorite part is all of it. The Fanbase, The Comic, and the hilarious Wiki, they all are something amazing put together. Keep it up Doc. We’ll all be waiting.

  18. RAMPAGE says:

Like the story lines and the characters.

  19. Mark says:

What I like about this comic are the occasional, but not constant, insertion of running gags or brick jokes that can often only be fully appreciated if you’ve been following the comic for a really long time. These hit the reader on two levels… the humor of the event that has just happened, and the subtle reference to things that have long since past or built up over the course of months or years… sometimes coming out of absolutely nowhere to shock me into a fit of laughter that can last for many minutes. To this day, panel 3 of October 20, 2005 still makes me chuckle when you take everything that has come before it.

  20. Boston Nana says:

I like the way you pull in the different series, including Dr. Who, star Trek and Star Wars and meld them into your own wild world.

  21. Doc says:

My favorite part of this comic is how much it’s grown. All your characters are three-dimensional,which is quite the feat given the size of the cast. In some of the early episodes, Johnny was probably my least favorite character, but over the course of the story he actually became very likable. Developing him that way while staying true to the character takes talent. The story lines are interesting and well-thought out. There’s drama and suspense, but it’s held on to the humor that it had from the beginning.
I’d also like to say thank you for the Quantum Leap reference. That show was before my time but I ended up tracking it down because I wanted to know what the joke was, and ended up really enjoying the series.

  22. Blockhead says:

I don’t know that I have anything to say that others have not already expressed, but I love so many things about Legostar Galactica. The characters are fantastic and well fleshed out, the stories are funny and exciting, the sets are amazing, the ship designs are awesome, the backgrounds are great, and I get to enjoy a new page almost daily! What more is there to want? Thank you, D.M., for your dedication to your fans and this wonderful work of art!

  23. euphoniusowl says:

This is such a hard question! I love this comic so much but definitely one of my favourite things is how many awesome female characters there are! I also like how well you are able to balance jokes with more serious, story-driven things.

  24. Chask says:

Aside from the fact that this comic has pretty seamlessly blender together my favorite sci-fi series, I’d have to say my favorite part of Legostar is setting how your set design and effects have evolved. Watching the comic go from the simplistic sets and perhaps not so optimal lighting

  25. Chask says:

Aside from the fact that this comic has pretty seamlessly blender together my favorite sci-fi series, I’d have to say my favorite part of Legostar is seeing how your set design and effects have evolved. Watching the comic go from the simplistic sets and not so optimal lighting of your earliest strips to what you do in the current strips has been amazing.

    Keep up the great work!

  26. Leonardo Barros says:

What I like the most is the pop culture jokes. I got hooked with things like the “three great houses” Harry Potter joke.

  27. Rob says:

What I like most about the comic is the fact that the legal disclaimer for the very generous giveaway is larger and has more text than any one daily “strip” and the actual rules of the giveaway itself, of which, if I am somehow randomly selected to win, then please find an underprivileged child and give him/her the prize.
Oh and by the way – you better keep writing this for at least another 14 years Dr LG, I’m only 50 so I reckon I’ve got a fair way to go before I’m done with the internet! Love your work…

  28. Durandal says:

My favorite thing about Legostar Galactica is the mixture of lego, humor, plot, and characters. Its wierd, yet works perfectly and captures imaginative spirit of lego. This is one of only two webcomics I follow, and have for years. 🙂 keep em comin!

  29. andada says:

I have to pick just one? For me, it’s the characters. I’m amazed at how simple Lego figures can have such personality with the character development and storylines. You’ve done a tremendous job over 14 years. Looking forward to the next 14!

  30. Taco says:

I am only pointing this out so you don’t get any issues about it down the road, sir.
In your list of give aways you Say 2 series 13 Minifigs but in the Legal mumbo jumbo you say 2 series 14 Minifigs.

  31. Cosmas says:

I most enjoy the multi-franchise sci-fi cross references in this comic. Seeing Jedi aboard a Trek-like Starship encounter the Doctor and his TARDIS has made my day on more than one occasion. That’s why I’m still reading after all these years! Keep up the great work, Doc!

  32. Russell says:

I love the variety of characters the most, followed by the clever story-telling.

  33. Samuel Bronson says:

Besides the awesome parodies of some of my favorite sci-fi stuff, there’s also the fact that you keep making the comic. I probably wouldn’t keep reading it if you didn’t 🙂

  34. blackflame says:

My favourite part is your version of the jedi. They were always too goody goody for me, even though I loved the fighting style and the magic… err… force. Your main jedi somehow manage to be humans and still function, unlike the emotionless black and white versions of the originals. That make them much more relatable characters, and after 14 years, we’ve got to know them well.

  35. Vincent says:

I mostly like the mixture of worlds, ST spaceship with SW races and jedis, the occasional Doctor appearance, C’thulu monsters as part of the crew, etc. Some segments like late night with Bobba Fet were very funny, as most of the one shot Sunday comics.

I also like that it has been 14 years! Incredible!

  36. dani geek says:

hmmm… a hard question, but still easier to answer than “when did you start reading”…

i love the multiple universes that (sort-of) share this universe… the multiple series that have niches here.

i love the individual characters, although i have only recently been able to hear some of the actors listed for the characters…

but mostly i love that the characters can be silly one moment and deadly serious the next, occasionally in the same panel!

  37. BounderTree says:

As a webcomic and sci-fi nerd i love all the series being referenced in LG, Hell it’s the first bit of media where someone included Stargate for me.

The fact that this has been the second webcomic i started reading in 2008 (i think) and it is still going so strong is something to love it for maybe even more.

Thanks for so many great comics and characters.

  38. CSBlakebrough says:

I like Bob an oasis of calm with his genre-savvy ways amongst an absolute storm of chaos (usually brought on by his own crew) plus his girlfriend is hot (see Episode 4.3 My Angel is a Centerfold 😀 )

    I wanna be Bob! 🙂

  39. Xaran Alamas says:

As others have said I think my favourite part is how you have melded elements from all kinds of sci-fi while making something new and creative 🙂

  40. Dr Legostar says:

Give away is now closed! Winner will be announced on 9/5!
