I think that’s part of the meta-joke: Bob & Crew are known entities by now. Yet their opponents keep running headfirst into the same traps. Their (non-Eldrich and non-Sith) opponents tend to be government or military agents too stupid or arrogant to heed prior warnings or simply straight up don’t believe them.
Here’s a scary thought – wasn’t it said at some point that the war with the Kind in Yellow made a lot of the crew have varying levels of crazy added to their minds? So did Johnny’s mind actually get WORSE?
Or maybe Johnny is an untrained telepath and unknowingly broadcasts his thoughts. Most people don’t consciously pick up on them and tend to not like him, especially women (whom he tries to pick-up and unknowingly broadcasts more to) and sensitives.
Telepaths are usually trained to listen to and “decipher” other peoples thoughts as part of their training. And the obnoxious ones specialize in that. Guess we know which type these are.
A Minecraft Creeper will only blow your face off once when it kills you with it’s explosion. Johnny, on the other hand will still be there, intact, and ready to blow you away repeatedly with his lack of imagination! It’s worse for telepaths, indescribably so! 😀
This is an awesome comic even though it was a real chore to catch up on. It was a fun chore, at least. My only real complaint is that the word bubbles often cover up the characters’ bodies instead of negative space in the frames.
(There’s also something I’d like to talk to you about and I sent you an email. I’m not sure if you check it often.)
This joke is such a laugh! 😀 I don’t think I’ll soon tire of it! 😀
Does anyone else think that this comic uses a lot of ” brick” jokes?

Now you’re pulling my leg-o.
Hahahahhaha! The reaction from Johnny’s brain is better/worse than Red’s! Guess the scariest thing isn’t eldritch horrorterrors after all.
Speaking of, I wonder what Little Spook 1 and Little Spook 2 look like to Red

I don’t think that’s possible, even for an Elder God
I’m sure that violates some interstellar treaty somewhere, though I’m not going to check. 😉
They just can’t look away the horror that is Johnny’s mind.

‘weaponise Johnny’s mind’ ?!
That’s a horror scenario right there!

And now I’m picturing some unholy amalgamation of Johnny and a Creeper. “That’s a very nice psyche you have there. Shame if something happened to it…”

no, that joke isn’t getting old 🙂
Perhaps the joke is getting old, but so do good wines, I understand.
