It’s almost certainly not really the King in Yellow (or even just a piece of him) – more likely another subconscious manifestation/trippy Jedi or Ancient thing.
And, of course, he is lying to her. She didn’t embrace (choose) him, she chose “little kid me”, and he is NOT that. And she CAN do something, after all, he is but a shadow of the true being and is in HER mind. That shadow is also “co-habitating” her body with an Ancient.
