It’s interesting to see how the background scenery changes every panel, it means they’re in a realm where the mind drives what you’re going to see, not the fact that you’re there to begin with. I’d imagine this to be similar to some kind of advanced holodeck projection program that changes the scenery around you to where you want yourself to be. 😀
Also, Larry may not believe it to be a word, but ‘insaner’ is indeed a word. It’s a certain tense of ‘insane’, used to mean one who has more insanity than others being compared to them. It’s likely that his species have not had use for such types of words, or he would have understood Red’s choice of words perfectly! 😉
The word “insaner” fell out of popular English usage quite some time ago, and is not considered a “proper” word in modern English. The preferred terminology today is “more insane”.
However, “insaner” is still definitely a real word… just a bit of an archaic and highly informal one.
This is just my opinion, but It’s probably not a bad Scrabble word to use if you don’t have any better letters for points and want to bait an opponent into challenging you, because I’d bet that many people would, thinking that it’s not a real word.
I know that Red is carry the Spear of Destiny. The sword the other guy is carrying is the sword the ninjas spent some time looking for but it turned out it was on board the Muffin all along. I don’t remember it’s name. Both of those items are powerful artifacts and probably are unaffected by the place.
It’s the least crazy thing about the story so far.

Their weapons do not change. I wonder if that is significant?

Well, combination of his time on the Muffin and all the deaths he survived, would think that would prepare the mind for any kind of madness.
