Okay, I *seriously* need to know what all these ships are. Like, I’m pretty sure the green and purple ones are Hoff ships because it matches their general aesthetic, but that’s never been explicitly established.
That’s not string, it’s some kind of Photoshop effect! 😀 I’m pretty sure of this because you can see a large brownish grey flight effect on the right of the comic. It splits up and down, and flares off to the sides from a middle point. I think it’s an effect meant to designate that ships are traveling through space and this effect is meant to be like a bow-wave of motion.
I think that’s actually Bum’bum’doom. Check the previous comics.
As for why it’s appearing twice? I’m going to say it’s because of whatever reality-distorting madness the King in Creepius is doing on the surface, and definitely NOT a Photoshop glitch. Right??

And are there Remulans on both sides?
HEY! I think I can see a string holding up the saucer that is right in the middle!
My suspension of disbelief has been totally destroyed!
How will I ever be able to continue enjoying this comic? Woh is me!
Why, it is almost like some bad TV trope. 😉
