It works for me, although it probably should’ve obscured his mic a little more, as suddenly spraying liquid out of your mouth does tend to have it shoot upwards and outwards a lot! 😀
I totally missed the spit, until I saw the commentary below the comic. I’m used to a rounded line indicating the trajectory of the spit, usually leading to the sound effect word, to indicate spits. Maybe you could see if that helps with comprehension?
With Shauna, the Chief Engineer who can turn a toaster into a warpdrive, right where they were originally headed! 😀 Maybe a little late, but in this comic, I’d expect anything Shauna is piloting to be pretty well-maintained! 😉
It was deleted, because there is a proper way to report typos for the comic and if you’re not interested in doing it that way I would prefer you not do it at all.
Looks good, but try splattering a little more upwards. In my experience, the spray tends to be a pretty even spread.
Worked for me. I realized what it was instantly. 🙂
After so many years together, Shauna still manages to leave Bob breathless and thirsty for more.

Also, Shauna should probably be looking at him whilst he’s doing it, that smile on her face is just too creepy for words! 😉
Afterall, love and marriage go together like wheel and carriage.
For the first split-second I thought his cup was disintegrating. 😀
the spit is a little to round.
It might be enhanced by whiting out his eyes (I’m thinking in MS Paint), then putting smaller black circles to indicate widening / surprise.
The actual spray works.
*realize
And yeah, that spit-take works, but like Lord Vargonius and BrickVoid have mentioned, a little more upwards.
I was immediately able to to tell that that was supposed to be a spit take, even before reading the annotation. So, at least for me, it DID work.
Think about it for a minute, what ‘else’ could it be.

Hope it helps.
I saw your comment about the spit take before the comic loaded. Spoiler! 😉
The spit take works but it’s a little foreshadowed by them never holding any drinks any other time.
Not so. There have been MANY strips where the characters have held drinks.
That can’t be good for that console.
Next on Lost in Space. How far will coffee send them.

I had posted a comment pointing out the typo in the fifth panel, what happened to it?

I didn’t know that, what is it?
Never mind, I just saw it.
