I keep trying to make “sigh” look different, in an attempt to find a technique I like.  I haven’t found one yet.

I feel like the basic *sigh* is still the best, personally.

Personally, I find I like “sigh” best when it comes across outside of the speech bubble. It’s an emotion, not really a text, but if you must include it in a speech bubble for whatever reason, be sure not to go overboard on it! Simplicity is usually the best course of action! 😉

I wonder if Dr. Legostar’s planning on pulling an “ascension” stunt for Robin here? 😀 Because it seems to me either he’s going to be rescued, or he’s going to be so resistant to his captors that his mind will reach a higher plane of existence and cease to require him to have a body they can direct attacks on! 😀

Mind you, if I reached an ascended state like the ancients in Stargate did, I’d leave a few parting shots for the King in Yellow and his lackey torture guy! 😀

Is the “y ou” in the last panel intentional? If so, clever way of showing signs of Robin breaking.

I didn’t think it was a bad way to handle Robin’s sigh. There’s no chance of losing it in the background, at least. (Not a problem I noticed having, so just pointing out a positive–YMMV.)

I would say, outside the speak bubble, in a 50% transparent grey font, as that would convey that its a sound and not a word as well as being a ephemeral one
