Something tells me Jeff isn’t going to like whatever Stan and Mitch have in mind. And something tells me that we’re going to be short at least one ninja by the time they get back to the Muffin.
That implies he’s giving them the sword at all. Perhaps they would take possession of the sword should Shin fall, but that is a very slim possibility, given that Shin is a highly skilled ninja! 😀
Thanks for deferring the open fight scenes. They must be fun to stage & shoot, but I usually skim over them in confusion (being a reqder of very little brain…oh bother). OTOH, it’s a fair trade for you to keep enjoying your fight scenes whilst I enjoy other aspects of the comic. I am in awe over your devotion, and fully respect that it is your love.
Hmmm……I wonder. Apparently Shin had been “killed” several times in the past and he’s currently wearing red.
I wonder if he’s related to the “Redshirt” family. It would make sense as to why nobody can ever seem to kill him and why he’s the guardian of the sword. IE: What better guardian than one that nobody can kill.
There’s still seven comics in the episode to go, fellas. I wouldn’t worry about it just yet.

All joking aside, I’m more than half-expecting Shin to die before the end of the episode. Once he gives them the sword he’s narratively superfluous.

Seriously. He’s a tertiary character, wearing a red shirt, and all we know about him IS that he’s really good. He’s a natural character to kill off.
Seems like he’s currently in the process of joining the B-cast, though
This conversation reminds me of a podcast I recently listened to: http://www.writingexcuses.com/podpress_trac/web/4402/0/Writing_Excuses_9_49_Hiding_the_Open_Grave.mp3
Sounds like you may have found an open grave…
Oooh! You tease!

Considering that he’s visibly not human, I doubt it
He’s in disguise.
He will prevail who knows when to fight and when not to fight.
