While I certainly appreciate the joke, surely there’s some middle ground between energy weapons and flintlocks? Like maybe that shotgun she gave Johnny when he was going to a dead tech world? There are no electronic components to be “interfered with” in contemporary firearms, so why go for the archaic ones? I know which I’d prefer…

Actually, that depends on the gun. A firearm equipped with a fingerprint reader or other electronic safety wouldn’t be able to function in an area that has adverse effects on electronics.
