Hyper Drive, Warp Drive

Assuming the Hyperdrive and Warp Drive have similar characteristics to the ones in Star Wars and Star Trek, one has to wonder why they don’t use the Hyperdrive, seeing as how they’re tens of thousands of times faster than Warp Drives.
